The old saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." Shouldn't that same sentiment be for touching others as well?!

Shortly after arriving to NYC over the weekend, not only did I stumble upon the greatest LGBTQ festival of the year, but the weather and beautiful sights of people who greeted me were AMAZING!

However, upon departing the train station near Times Square to grab another cup of tea I witnessed an incident where three young men dressed in LGBTQ attire were physically attacked and sprayed with mase by a larger group of individuals who obviously did not approve of the weekend festivities.

Immediately, my heart cried out for these three young men as one continually screamed that he could not see due to the extreme amount of toxic spray in his eyes with a torn shirt and pecks of dried up blood. What has the world come to where we have deemed it okay to attack complete strangers for being "different"?

Ironically, and with absolutely no idea that I was arriving in NYC at this time or would be walking into this incident, my previous podcast was about how as society we are losing humanity and compassion towards one another; those who are considered different are treated as outcast for simply not fitting into the mode of everyone else.

Whether it is due to ones race, gender or sexual preference it is NEVER okay to attack or treat someone else in an unkind manner.

Now I would suggest if a certain community of individuals disgust you that much stay far away, but by no means do we go around harming other human beings simply for being different or have interests one particular party may consider "wrong".

Check out my latest podcast on "Necessary Good" and listen to understand how we are losing humanity by giving too many passes to those who treat others unkind just because they are different.

Balance is about having a little bit of everything, which in this world is totally normal because no two people are the same...And that is totally OKAY!
